Description

So, not much time at the moment, but I've got a few pics that I've prepped during the weekend which I might upload over the course of the next few days, depending on reception. I'm a bit disappointed about my last pic [link] not getting too much attention, but it might be because I'm the only one so crazy about this damn elevated freeway :XD: I just though the colours and composition were one of the best I've managed so far, but I might have been wrong.

Aaaanyways, here we've got another shot of the engine I explored some time ago, for a detailed story, see this journal entry: [link] A class 140 awaits its end on a rail at a disused platform in Leverkusen - Opladen, some days before being pushed onto the Bender's siding. You can see the platform's roof further back towards the right side of the pic, which is in a quite bad shape nowadays, uncared for, rotting. The access tunnel to the platform was sealed years ago, so I was left with no choice than to cross the rails, something I would never do. But seeing this old, boxy, reliable beast with over 5000 horses under its boxy hood just stand there made me want to take a closer look. As it turned out, all the doors were open, so I could take pics like this one [link] After I was done exploring, I locked three of the four doors from the inside, so that vandals trying the platform side doors couldn't get inside immediately. Judging by the fact that she remained intact until her end, it must have worked :)

I probably don't have to mention that she was scrapped months ago...

The combination of black and white with the overgrowth...just seems forlorn and abandoned....:(
