Coming around the bend in Leverkusen Küppersteg. Gotta love these boxy beasts from the former GDR, diligently working away on the S-Bahn line S6. All other lines in this region have already been converted to EMU operation, except for this one last beacon of boxy locomotives. On the one hand, I like that, because these are just so much more awesome to photograph. On the other hand, the carriages are from the 70s, and they don't have AC, which does get kinda bothersome during hot summers...
Also, I passed my last exam today. Yes, I did proclaim that in a journal some time ago. Sadly, I had to attend an exam in a subject that normally shouldn't require one. But because it was an engineering-related subject, it all went according to the examination regulations of the engineering faculty, which doesn't allow for credits points to be given for merely attending the lecture. We were just five guys in total, so I thought the professor wouldn't have any trouble remembering me and handing me my two credits. But he refused, and instead required me to attend a short oral exam to prove that I've attended his lecture. Which then meant that I had to re-learn everything while also being busy with my master thesis. Joy oh joy... And this is also what kept me from taking more snow-related photos, as I was stuck in my office, preparing for said exam while it was snowing outside. Well, I passed, got my credits, and will hopefully never ever have to attend an exam ever again during the last leg of my studies.
Thanks! I wish I'd have taken more, but this is all I have for now. Spent only half an hour near the tracks on Saturday, and that was it.
Yeah, he kept on telling me how it wasn't his intention, and how it wasn't my fault either that I ended up in this situation. But when I reminded him that we were just five people in the lecture, and how he could just remember that I've been there all the time, he just went "Well, but where do you draw the line? For how many people should one not require an attendance list? Ten, fifty? So we just don't do those, sorry!" I mean, seriously? Draw the line where you want, but nobody would deny his ability to remember the faces of FIVE students for chrissakes!
