I didn't know what to upload, so I went for another streetcar pic from San Francisco.

This was taken on the Embarcadero waterfront, showing the cars that were already done for the day. Car no. 1059 was originally built for the Philadelphia Transportation Company in 1948, now painted in the colours of the Boston Elevated Railway. More info can be found here, if you're interested.

We also visited the San Francisco Railway Museum, which is just across the street to my right. However, it's more of a gift shop than a museum, so not really worth visiting, unless you're looking for streetcar-related souvenirs. Now that I think about museums though, we also visited the Cable Car Museum, which was much more interesting... Yeah, I think I'll upload a few shots of that tomorrow.

As a kid I had a book from the Cable Car Museum. I spent many hours looking through its pages!!!

Nice shot, by the way. Great lighting and interesting subject matter.

I got a book from there too, but it had little to do with cable cars! [link]

Thanks!

Very interesting!

My father worked as an executive for a mining company, AMAX, from 1954 until he retired in about 1982. He was always pointing out things having to do with mining. One that we often drove past was the remains of an areal tramway in Dover Plains, NY which serviced a WWII magnesium mine. In the 1960s, a local junkyard affixed an old car to the top of one of the towers along the roadside as a sign for the business.
