An interesting approach is to make moody and distinctive pictures that are also rail related, though don't look like the ordinary pic from a railfan. At leat that's what I sometimes try to do, when not focussing on the rolling stock itself, though even with rolling stock, one can make good use of colours and reflections [link] . The most prominent example is of course the image one sees on my page right away [link] so I thought I'd give the concept another shot.
A little playing around with invert and hue using a photo shot from a platform of Duisburg central station, looking towards where the former switchyards were, and were the autobahn describes a slight hump at the very back. Day and night, one can see the endless string of headlights from passing cars, a really interesting sight. I'll try to get some photos of that too, as soon as I have a camera with a proper zoom lens of course |
