EDIT: Fixed the colours, following advice from Bob.
Sixth photo in the Class 143 Tribute Series
I thought I'd upload some more recent photos too.
Took this one on a 110 hunting tour, but as you'd expect, I shot everything that came by. The Station Büttgen is halfway between Mönchengladbach and Neuss, along some extremely straight trackage. Only S-Bahn trains of the line S8 stop here. Note the heat distortion above the loco, as it still uses rheostatic e-brakes, rather than regenerative ones.
This line is currently being converted to class 422 EMU operation. As a matter of fact, the day on which I shot this marks the day of the first 422 on this line, and I have some evidence of that too.
The great irony here is of course that the more than twice as old but somewhat faster class 110 might even outlast the 143 in this region. The rush hour extra trains might only run a few times per day, but they run regularly.
EDIT: As of now, this shot can't be retaken any more, the 422s took over.

This is really great, I love the detail of the heat comming out from the ventilators.
