I do realize that the quality is off, but I still wanted to share this sight. A 1970s VW T2 camper van parked at the valley station of the ski area's main ropeway. Just thinking about how much of a struggle it must've been to drive this thing up the mountain gives me goosebumps... Kudos to whoever managed to do it.

Friends of mine used one to make long camping trips to Poland every year. They'd know it always break down once or twice, but they also knew that they or a local mechanic would get it going again. Combination of simple but efficent technology and Polish knowhow. :)

The reason that your picture looks a bit strange, is that exposure meters base their output on the fiction that everything is 18% grey. So pictures with a lot of snow in them will always be too dark, and pictures with a lot of black vice versa. Even with a very expensive camera or exposure meter.  So with all that light bouncing off the snow, the best thing is give the picture even more light and  to overexpose a stop or more, quite counter intuitively. But you can probably fix it in Photoshop too. :)
