...putting this up. I've sworn to myself to keep off DA due to university stuff being more urgent and having the higher priority (obviously), but as you can see, I couldn't resist sharing this one with you.
I thought that if I don't spend any time browsing DA, and got up early in the morning, I'd have some spare time left for testing out my new 1000D with the 18-55mm kit lens. I can't find any words that would describe the awesomness of this camera... This was the third shot fired this morning (of the 260 in one hour) at the four track Köln-Duisburg line. An InterCity express trainset (third generation) screaming past an S-Bahn train with a class 143 electric and x-type carriages.
Not bad for the first train shot with this thing, eh? I know that the image is tilted, and that's the way I like it, looks way more dynamic than after I set it straight. No editing apart from cropping and resizing. The high voltage mast didn't come out quite sharp, as there wasn't that much light for high shutter speeds, and I was panning along with the trains. On other shots, everything is as sharp and crisp as in my wildest dreams concerning photography. Clearly, this camera is a pure form of ownage...
So, now that you know I'm working on improving my skills with the new toy, I'll log off for good, and come back after university stuff has been sorted out. Might take a few weeks or a month, but, as the Terminator said, I'll be back!
Thanks a lot!
The shot is a great one...I like how the sun is just breaking over the top of the train. Great stuff.
