Ferrari no more...

I had cracked a joke about how that engine, being red and having a prancing horse on the front, may have been a Ferrari. After all, it does have 5000hp, though the top speed of 88mph is lower than that of an average family car. In reality, it was of course North Rhine-Westphalia's coat of arms, which is often seen on regional trains around here.

Apparently, someone didn't like that coat of arms being attached to 435's nose, so all that's left now is a sticky patch above the DB logo. When regarding how much better the loco looks compared to the previous photo, it may have been the result of a good cleaning, which may have also removed the sticker unintentionally. Or perhaps someone hasn't bothered putting a new one on. Anyways, I'm glad the loco itself is at least still around, built in 1966 and still in service, though probably not for much longer...

Seen here in Leverkusen-Rheindorf, pulling the rush hour booster train from Cologne to Wesel. Tried a slightly different position this time, standing further back on the platform, looking into the curve from a slightly different angle. I quite like the result, and standing further back also gives me a better chance at panning shots, once the loco comes close enough.
