Reflection of the 3 and 5 metre boards in the murky water. Man, I do not want to jump down into that mess. I don't know whether they actually left some water in it, or whether this is rain water. I guess it has to be rain water, as the chloride in water normally used in pools would prevent the growth of bacteria or any algae, but it might be used up or degraded. Has had enough time for that anyways. Its hard to imagine that people would enjoy their summer here nowadays...

This is neat for some reason. :) I like the use of the reflection. It gives the water "depth". I'm looking at the surface reflections, and the leaves/stuff underneath all at the same time.

No, it's not an act...I really am that nutty.
Thanks :D Though I have to admit that I played with the colours to make the.... things in the water look a bit more intense. I've got another, much better shot of the tower's reflection, but it came out blurry -.-

I like the reflection of the platforms in the murky water. It makes an excellent composition. It's amazing how a dank, nasty puddle can be restored to an energetic, happy summer frolic with just a few days of work.

Thanks for featuring! But it is even more amazing (in a negative way) how this place is slowly decaying, as this once was a popular pool in summer. Right now, we'd have our swimming lessons here instead of the indoor pool, if they wouldn't have closed it down.

I don't understand it. Pools are a dime a dozen in the 'States, and I don't even know where the nearest one is here in Heidelberg. I think there's a big Schwimmbad in Schwetzingen, but I haven't seen any in Rohrbach at all. My wife is suffering from swimming withdrawal.
I don't understand it either. They want to rebuild it though, and keep the large pool in the pic, while constructing an indoor pool and new buildings on this site, which then would lead to the closure of the indoor pool we're training at. The reason is as always: Money. It would be too expensive to maintain them so we're told, and its more profitable to build a completely new one.
