Class 140 freight engines sit in Bender's yard, patiently waiting for their desctruction after being some of the most reliable engines throughout decades. Pics like this always make railfans ask "Are they really in such a bad shape?" upon not seeing anything that would make this engine worse off than her sisters still in service. Truth is, some engines that ended up here were still in operating condition... But when the next inspection is due, which costs money of course, the DB apparently rather scraps them instead of giving them a checkup, as there is no demand for these workhorses. At least that's what they say.
Needless to say, I liked the reflections in that puddle very much.
Is it wrong that I think Deutsch Cargo would be a more interesting title? Just my oddball opinion, even though this is an "English" site. I probably got the form of Deutsch wrong.
Nice pic and use of reflection. Makes me wish the puddle was bigger.
Well, to my ears, it wouldn't make a lot of sense, since cargo would translate into Güter, so it would mean Deutsche Güter. And Deutsche Cargo would just sound... weird
Yes, the puddle was a nice addition, but I would have preferred the entire surrounding to be less muddy... At least the clouds disappeared for a coulple of hours, its been raining for two days straight around here.
Yeah, Deutsche Cargo would sound weird. I forget that my own little reality doesn't match everyone else!
I know what you mean about rain rain and rain! It's been a pain to get any hay here in Ohio...it won't dry up! Never a steady rain, or HUGE storms...it just keeps switching from rain to sun to rain and back again.
At least the sun bits would have given me time to take pics, but it just kept comming down constantly until today. But the next few days are supposed to be a bit more like summer
That's exactly why I chose to uncheck the minor edit box on this one, as it used to be one of my secred faves. I even had it printed among others, and it's hanging on the wall to my left
Now there's something I never thought of before. Although, if you ever saw the walls in my room you'd quickly realise that I'm quite limited for space shall we say... Although I have a few gaps here and there which could easily be filled...

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
