Description
Ah yes, the good old green V200!
Built in 1957, now owned by the Brohtal-Eisenbahn GmbH, mostly used to haul flatcars loaded with aluminium slabs. As mentioned in the description of the previous pic, I only had a few seconds to get this shot, which explains the inferior quality and the lack of focal lenght. Still, a 1950s locomotive is not an everyday sight, so I uploaded it anyways. And since I was plainly visible, standing on a heap of excavated earth, the driver waved and blew his horn as he went by. Always a joy when railroaders react to railfans (in a positive manner of course).
The bridge in the background is also an interesting detail. There used to be a bridge here that was ill-maintained for years and had to be torn down in the end, with no replacment. Now, with Opladen's former locomotive workshop being turned into a residential area, new bridges will be built. I guess that's the first section, which was lifted in place by a crane that was positioned nearby (visible on the previous pic).
