Holy Train

A more distant view of the train I shot yesterday.

As you can see, the roof is somewhat overexposed, which is probably down to the rather new paint. Several of these cars were recently repainted into this historic livery, and while today's cars always have a gray roofline, the ones we see here sport a silver one. Even when I tried to use curves in photoshop, the roof refused to get any darker. Hell, even pushing all the settings as far as they'd go resulted in an almost black picture, with the roof still almost white!



But you know what? I sort of liked it... Kind of an interesting effect to have the roof shine like this, reflecting the little bit of sunshine that managed to pierce through the rain clouds. In fact, it kind of looks like a halo for the train...
