Felt like submitting some older shots. Took this during my USA trip last summer, Korean Air A330-223 HL8212 shortly before landing in Las Vegas.
Right now, we had some snowfall, with more to come during the next few days. A good time to think back about the dazzling 40° heat in the deserts of Nevada and California.
And yes, snow did inevitably lead to handbrake turns at the university parking lot. Because I'm immature.
Nice shot. We all need to indulge our inner child. The older we get/feel, the more important it becomes. High RPM spins, drifting and "burning donuts" are one of the reasons I continue to drive a full size 2-wheel-drive gas guzzler of a pickup truck. As soon as there's enough snow to make things properly slippery (3 inches or more), I get an itch to find an empty parking lot. Front wheel drive cars just can't do snow-covered spins nearly as well as rear-drive vehicles.
I drive a front-wheel drive hatchback with a diesel engine that gets 67mpg on average, if I drive economically, so very boring for most people. But fun enough for me.
I know the feeling. My daily driver is a boring front drive sedan. it gets the job done efficiently, if not excitingly. If I want excitement or a better view, I drive the truck.
