Yes, we usually buy bigger trees:



But after some time, you get fed up with all the hassle, so smaller tree it is. And no, I didn't get anything worthy of mentioning. But that's no problem, as I didn't ask for anything. Right now, my biggest wish is for my family to get its ass back onto a plane, but that won't happen until Thursday. Please ignore my grumpy mood until then.

Corky's sister and family are my favorite people in the universe, and we are happily visiting our son and daughter in law now, but there are also those kin we tend to avoid.

I remember us, 40 years ago, being concerned about whether our respective parents would get along. Within the first five minutes the two dads were swapping camera stories. We relaxed.

Blessed are those who can count (at least some of) their relatives among their friends.
