This is a special train, basically a rolling exhibition that is supposed to show scientific trends, new technologies, and how we're going to deal with future problems like global warming and the likes. If you want an excuse to skip regular lessons for an outing, this exhibition is for you! If you actually have something to do with science, like myself, you will find it rather boring, and very shallow. They touch on many interesting subjects, such as materials that have very peculiar properties when it comes to interference with light, however, there are no in depth explanations or even answers to the questions the exhibition supposedly deals with. Check out Torsten's pic if you want to know more about it. Ironically, the tagline "Expedition Zukunft" (expedition future) is somehow undermined by the fact that old baggage and bicycle cars have been used for the train, and the two engines that pull it are good old class 110 electrics that received a special varnish for this occasion. Note that it isn't a real varnish, but rather plastic foil stuck onto the train and engines. If you have a very, very good memory, you might remember this older photo I took, showing the engine in the top picture before it received the new "varnish". I also recorded this video, showing how that engine runs around a carriage, is coupled to it, and pulls it away, with that characteristic thumping of the oldschool tap-changer.
