Privately owned class 701 catenary maintenance DMU, smashed and defaced, sitting on a dead-end siding in Opladen...

Interesting fact: This thing even made it into our local paper once! No joke, you can read it here if you're interested. The article basically states that thieves must've made their way inside through the smashed windshields, removing and stealing the 20.000€ train radio. According to the writer, they did it in a rather professional manner, so they were by no means amateurs. But then, they unleashed their destructiveness, smashing everything inside to bits and setting fire to it before leaving. Interestingly, the article also says that the owners don't want to scrap it, but that it is to be towed to Kassel (where this company is based) for repairs. But as you can see, it hasn't moved ever since...
