Again, one may question my sanity. If you remember, last time, I got up very early on a sunday to shoot this. Today was a saturday, and I had to get up even earlier, so I could take the train I normally take to get to the university. Only this time, I went one stop past Duisburg, to Oberhausen Hauptbahnhof, so I could shoot the 41 360 as she was coupled to a charter train of the "AKE Eisenbahntouristik" bound for Gerolstein. Isn't she a beauty?
The class 41 was a fast freight engine built between 1937 and 1941, that remained in use after WW2 in both east and west Germany. This particular unit belongs to the "Dampflok-Tradition Oberhausen", an association that keeps several historic engines in working order and makes them available for such charter trains.
As usual, I've also uploaded a short vid to YouTube, and as always, DA has fun placing smileys in my links, so I'll just give you the link to my page.
Enjoy!
