Kind of a response to this photo by :iconvesko-from-munich:.

This is where I took my latest shots, waiting for a steamer, but getting a preserved 110 instead, which isn't really all that bad, considering that I already had photos of the steamer, but not of that particular electric. Here you can see my bike (the one that got stolen and returned), which is my main means of transport. I don't have my own car, but when my mum isn't using it, I can use our Audi, should the need arise. However, one isn't really allowed to drive onto this road, so a bike is a bit more practical for such spots.

Other shots from this location: This one, showing my bike in front of the snow covered field that we can see to our left, and of course my second most popular deviation, also taken from this very spot. If you look through my gallery, you will find quite a few nice shots that I took here, and some more from the overpass a bit further down the line, like this one.

The train we see here is a typical double decker commuter, a five car push-pull train, powered by a class 146 multiphase electric, heading cab car forward towards Leverkusen. Well, we are in Leverkusen anyways, but the train only stops in Leverkusen-Mitte. This is the very train I ride to university and back every day, a 50 kilometer commute, the train ride taking roughtly half an hour.

Sorry for all the links in the text, but I always have the urge to show everyone where I am, and what I shot there. Come to think of it, many deviants use Google Maps links to show their audience where a shot was taken, so I could do that too:

You are here.

Sehr interesssant.

Glad to see you're a cyclist like me. Your bike is way better though...

LOL, I don't think so! :XD: We bought it at Edeka back then, for less than 200€, which shows through every other part failing and/or rusting. Even the ball bearing in the steering column disintegrated once, with me having to take everything apart and find a new bearing... Not to mention the melting dynamo, snapping pedal lever, constantly misaligned gear shift, everything that needs constant maintenance. If a thief cut the lock, but then returned the thing almost to the exact same spot, you can guess what quality we're talking about here... Getting a new one wouldn't be a wise investment, as I hoping to get my Master's degree in the US, so I'll just keep it running as long as I have to. :)

...and here I am trying to get my master's degree in Germany...the irony is killing me...okay not really. Sorry to hear about your bike's reliability problems. I paid 40 bucks for mine at Walmart after my previous aluminum bike got stolen. It's as simple as they get...steel frame, steel rims, caliper brakes, 15 speeds with thumb shifters. I've "upgraded" it with a comfy seat, a crank-up headlight, battery-powered tail lamp, luggage rack, and a trailer for hauling groceries and tired puppies. Ruby has an unlimited supply of energy, but Tommy gets tired easily...so he rides in the trailer so Ruby and I can continue at higher speed. :)

I have to point out the fact the railway line is entirely unfenced, something which would never be seen in the UK. Although despite every length of railway line in the UK being fenced up, hooligans and/or idiots still find their way onto the line to wreak havoc by stoning trains and stealing stuff which screws up services along the route.
