The one, the only, the legendary "Bügelfalte" class 110.

Shot this during the usual spontaneous tour, this time at Düsseldorf Central Station. If you're interested in more 110 shots, both "Bügelfalte" and "Box", or some bird remains and an idiot walking onto the rails in front of a train, check out my DSO post, as usual.

While I'm quite happy with this shot, especially composition wise, there is one wee problem. The amount of active class 110 engines is so low that I keep shooting the same ones, namely the small batch that still resides in this region. They can be seen everywhere between Dortmund and Cologne, doing all sorts of duties. This specimen here is hauling the regular rush hour extra train from Düsseldorf to Aachen, on the Regional Express line RE4.

The current inspection deadline expires on the 6th of August, 2010. Two one-year extensions are possible, if the DB is willing to carry out the required inspections.
