Did I ever mention Cologne Central being awesome? No? Well, it is! I just love the fact that it's busy, there's always something to shoot, and the station building as such is always worth a photo as well. Apart from that, nobdoy ever bothers you! I might get odd stares from passengers, but all those stories from the UK or US about security personnel etc. harrassing photographers because of terrorism fears seem so senseless when seeing how one never even gets approached by security here. Keep in mind that two wannabe islamists deposited bombs on two trains at this station back in 2007, one of those trains being of the same line that I rode home. Still, those in charge seem to know that none of those had cameras. Apart from that, the station is well lit, there are always people around, even in the dead of night, it feels like a safe haven.
If you've seen my latest collection of pics on DSO, you might recognize the ICE and Talent standing at the central platform, as a closer crop of this is in fact the fourth shot in my thread. I was thinking about which one to upload, but I went with the wide angle shot for this one to show off the nicely lit trainshed.
