My first ever Class 66 shot

Ladies and Gents!

I give you the nightmare of UK railfans, the locomotification of evil, the log on wheels, the smoking shed, the one and only EMD Class 66!

Story: I just heard about a "Bügelfalte" 110 pulling an InterCity train, instead of the usual 101. In fact, it was going to be one of the two locos that still wear their striking "Science Express" livery, you may know the two from this older shot. The one on the top was going to pull the train, and posts on DSO confirmed that it was on its way. So off I went to the nearest photo location, namely the long curve at Leverkusen-Rheindorf.

The signals turn green... Oh, just a second gen ICE. They turn green again aaand... A third gen ICE. And they turn green again aaand... The fuck is that?!

That's how I shot my first ever Class 66, rambling down the electrified 125mph mainline with a train of flat spots... I mean tank cars! Personally, I do like the shot, though the engine is indeed a mixture of stuff that just doesn't fit somehow...

Also, I did catch my 110, see my DSO post, as usual.
