Stage set for Destruction

The floodlights illuminate the opponents, a lone, helpless class 110 engine, sitting on a rail that's blocked at both ends, and a huge steel claw that will certainly win this battle.

110 420 will soon be gone.

Remember that time Torsten and me were both in Cologne, at the same time, shooting the same engines without running into each other? We both submitted a shot of a certain engine from that day.

As usual, more photos can be found in my DSO thread. Yes, I know, it's how things are, old engines get scrapped, too expensive to maintain, not powerful enough, not fast enough, yadda yadda and so on.

Another loss that saddens every railfan. I don't think anything on German rails today will have such a long service life as the class 110, an engine designed and first built in the 1950s!
